The fine
climate of the Amalfi coast invites
you to spend your time in the
open, fresh air. At
the
Villa la Madonnina you have plenty of space to enjoy the
sunshine, listen to the sound of the sea and go swimming in
the
pool or in the sea. There are
two big terraces
and a loggia, total about 240 m² (2400 ft²).
The
upper "hibiscus" terrace is at
the level
of the entrance, the loggia is at level of the living area
and the main terrace is a few steps down.
Common
to all is
the spectacular view of the sea,
the surrounding coastline with the ancient tower "Torre
a Mare" which was built in the 13th century as part of the
coastal defense system against the Saracens. In the
morning you can see
the fishermen from nearby Marina di Praia with
their
traditional rowing boats
and nets working to get the catch of the day. If you are interested,
Teresa (the room maid) can ask if you can go out with them. But you
should be an early bird as they leave around 6 am . The
colors of
the sea are not only
changing during the day but when you look down to the small bay towards
the right you see that the color changes from light blue
to dark blue the deeper the water is.
